DEPUTATIONS BY APPOINTMENT

1. PETERBOROUGH CENTRE AND PAPANUI RAILWAY STATION

Mr David Thornley will address the Council seeking: * The Council's support for the retention of the Peterborough Centre as an historic building, and its use for cultural purposes. The building is currently being offered for sale by tender, with tenders closing on Friday 15 December. * The retention of the Papanui Railway Station building (this issue is separately referred to in clause 15 of the Shirley/Papanui Community Board's report to the present Council meeting).

2. CANTERBURY TELEVISION:

REGIONAL TELEVISION PROGRAMMES Ms Sue Wells will address the Council on behalf of a group formed to oppose recently announced cuts in locally produced programmes screened on Canterbury Television.

3. CATHEDRAL SQUARE REDEVELOPMENT

Mr David Sheppard and one other person will address the Council on this issue, on behalf of a group comprising local architects and central city retailers. The Central City Committee is meeting on Friday 8 December 1995 to further consider this issue. The Committee's report to the present meeting will be separately circulated.

4. FERRYMEAD HISTORIC PARK Mr Douglas Johns and one other person will address the meeting on behalf of the Tramway Society, regarding the operation and funding of Ferrymead Historic Park.
