Need Help? - Get online!
Secretarial Services Officer Tanya Ewins shows John Saxton, Chairperson of the Redwood Residents Association, how to use the community website.
A new "Community Help" site has been designed to help you navigate your way around your community, find key information on events happening near to you and learn how to obtain funding.
There are many children’s events held each year, along with holiday programmes — click online and see when the next event is happening close to you or city-wide.
Thinking about hiring a hall for a special event? Just click and there it is! Find out about Residents Groups, or how to start a Neighbourhood Support Group.
See what the Community Board is doing for you and find out who are your representatives. Meet the Community Advocacy Teams and see how they can help you.
There are also links to community groups and the Christchurch City Council website.
The Community Help site is easy to use and even if you don’t know the Ward area that you live in, the website will easily guide you through.
It is also interactive — you can have your say in the feedback form; along with email addresses for key people that you can contact for further help.
If you don’t have a computer at home, come into the Library which has internet facilities available to the public and, even better, if you are searching this site — it is FREE! So log-on now and check it out for yourself.
For further information about this site, contact Tanya Ewins, ph 354 1703.
