The Burwood/Pegasus Advocacy Team, your local Council staff, is here to assist you in any contacts with the Council.
We are a first point of contact for Council-related enquiries or concerns.
The Team is also proactive in identifying community issues and representing residents' views to the Community Board and the wider Council.
Community advocacy by the Board and Advocacy Team involves championing the wishes of the community in order to influence the Council and other agencies to best meet the needs of a particular community.
Our roles are to:
- Respond to the needs of the community through fulfilling a role of outreach for the Council to residents.
- Develop and maintain partnerships, networks and close relationships with the Council.
- Support the Community Board members.
- Facilitate liaison between the community and all Council staff.
The small core Advocacy Team works closely with other Council staff with local responsibilities in the areas of Leisure, City Streets, and Parks and Waterways.
