Young Busker’s Hook is a Piratical Act

Eight-year-old Max Earnshaw’s five minute seafaring sing-along routine gets plenty of laughs. “I like making people laugh,” Max says of his Kids Buskers performances. “I have to get people to hold the signs and that’s hard because most people just say no.” Mum Linley (at right) says the TV2 KidsFest event is great because, as well as having fun and entertaining, Max is making some extra pocket money. Father Richard is shown behind Max.

Young buskers wanting to try their luck should call 941 6487. It’s just one of a huge lineup of events on this year’s TV2 Kidsfest calendar. With a week of the annual winter festival still to run there are still plenty of events which children can attend.

  • You can still get a brochure at any Council Service Centre or Library, or by phoning the TV2 KidsFest hotline on 941 6877
  • Visit www.kidsfest.co.nz for ticket availability and listen to The Breeze (94.5FM) for the latest up-to-date festival information
