Look in the Wardrobe at Our City
Explore the story of Canterbury’s cinematic transformation into the land of Narnia at a unique Our City O-Tautahi exhibition.
Coordinated by screen industry marketing agency Film South, this free show runs until 12 August at the Council’s community exhibition space on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Worcester Boulevard.
In late 2004, Flock Hill was the site of one of the biggest filming experiences in the area’s history — Academy Award winning Director Andrew Adamson’s shooting of the battle scenes for The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe.
It was a vast undertaking, with more than 300 centaurs, minotaurs, hags and other creatures armed to the teeth with exquisitely designed weapons from WETA.
- Our Land Speaks Volumes – From Canterbury to Narnia runs until 12 August. Admission free.
