Gifts for parks
A number of gifts have been made to Christchurch parks this year. The latest of these is a Liberty Swing, donated by Variety The Children's Charity, which was officially unveiled on 20 March at the newly upgraded Spencer Park Playground.
Council project leader Steve Gray, who has headed the playground upgrade, is pictured helping Brittany Graham to christen the swing.
Last month, Firestone celebrated the production of its 35 millionth tyre at its Christchurch factory by gifting a tyre swing for St James Park and eight tyres for the Council rangers' trucks.
And if you are taking a stroll to Godley Head, keep an eye out for a new stone seat, with wonderful views over Taylors Mistake, which has recently been donated by a Sumner family.
