Travis Wetland AGM, 18 October
With talk recently about the spread of mosquito-borne diseases, what is the potential risk for Christchurch, particularly given recent wetland restoration projects such as that at Travis Wetland?
This will be a key question for speakers at the forthcoming Travis Wetland Trust’s annual general meeting (AGM). It starts at 7pm on Tuesday, 18 October, at the Travis Education Centre on Beach Road, Burwood. Light refreshments will be served.
The speakers are Steve Pawson of the NZ Entomological Society and Sue James of the Canterbury District Health Board. They will talk about how mosquitos live, breed, spread disease and where they live in Christchurch.
