Is it Safe to Eat?

We expect our food to be safe, but will accept and indeed court risk in other areas of our lives. So how safe is our food, and is it any more risky than the other things we do every day?

October’s Science in the City Lunchtime Lecture will be presented by Professor Ian Shaw, Pro Vice Chancellor (Science) of the University of Canterbury.

This series of free monthly Science in the City lunchtime lectures is presented by the Canterbury Branch of the Royal Society and Our City O-Tautahi. Lectures are held on the last Wednesday of each month, from 1.10pm - 1.50pm and cover a wide variety of interesting and accessible scientific topics. Feel free to bring your lunch.

  • Our City O-Tautahi is on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Worcester Boulevard. More info at www.ccc.govt.nz/ourcity
