Chch City Libraries' sponsorship boost
Christchurch City Libraries has been given a helping hand by TelstraClear, which is sponsoring all the internet and telecommunication charges for the South learning Centre at South Christchurch Library. The deal is the third year that TelstraClear has offered such support, totalling over $66,000.
The sponsorship deal was ratified at an official signing between Christchurch Mayor Garry Moore and TelstraClear South Island sales manager Andrew Fennell, making TelstraClear the largest single sponsor of the centre.
John Truesdale, Manager of Digital Library Services, says, "without the sponsorship from organisations like TelstraClear who are involved at the South Learning Centre, we would not be able to provide the best technology, programmes and professional development opportunities for local residents".
Every month the Centre hosts more than 1000 local children and residents, who access a wide range of programmes, all of which will benefit from the new deal.
