Timetable for gala opening
Get along to the library on opening day, 6 August, for a host of special activities:
9.30am Official opening by Deputy Mayor Carole Evans
10am Library opens to the public
10.30am Ariana Tikao sings
11am Silencio Trio — jazz band
12pm & 1pm Liz Weir — Canadian story teller
1.30pm Windsor School kapahaka group
2pm Parkview Primary School line dancing and choir
2.30pm Riot Police — youth band
3pm The story of Eel Dreaming — authors Ben Brown and Helen Taylor
There’ll also be a bouncy castle on site all day, roving entertainers, a magic show, sing/star competition, stalls and the New Brighton fire engine from 10-11am. There’ll also be activities in the Learning Centre from 11am-3pm.
