More than just books

Libraries are much more than books these days. If you haven’t visited one recently, you’ll notice the difference at Parklands.

Check out the range of magazines, newspapers, DVDs and CDs on offer, surf the internet, grab a coffee or learn new skills in the Learning Centre.

Remember the rows of dusty old books? Parklands is different. It’s like walking into a book store — row upon row of brand new books, but with the big difference that you don’t have to buy them to enjoy them. Borrow them for free and take them home. Parklands has 15,000 titles to choose from, including all the latest must-reads. You can even reserve books, music and DVDs from any other Christchurch City library for a small charge, and pick it up from Parklands on your next visit.

Thought you knew libraries? Think again!
