Entries are open to any heritage or character buildings, places or objects within the Hagley/Ferrymead Community Board area and can include residential dwellings, commercial/retail, industrial, institutional and streetscape and community heritage areas.

The awards, funded by the board and sponsored by the Christchurch Star, have been running since 1997 to recognise the efforts of the community in preserving the ‘built’ or constructed character and heritage of the Hagley/Ferrymead area.

One award will be made in each of the following categories; Retention; Conservation and Restoration; Education and Awareness; Children; Good Caretaker; Pre-1850 Award; the Christchurch Star Award.

Nominations close on Friday 6 August 2004.

An award presentation will be held in the chapel at the Music Centre of Christchurch on Friday 10 September 2004.
