Dog regos due – pay on time to avoid a fine

It’s time for Christchurch dog owners to register their dogs.

Registration forms have been sent to all owners at their last recorded address. Anyone who has not received a form should collect one from a Council service centre or print it from the Council’s website www.ccc.govt.nz/animals/forms/

Owners who have been granted Responsible Dog Owner (RDO) status were required to register their dogs by 30 June 2004 to claim their cheaper registration fee. If registering later, the cost is $70 per dog. A further $30 penalty per dog will apply for animals registered after 31 July 2004.

Owners who don’t hold the Responsible Dog Owner status are encouraged to consider applying now for the 2005 registration, and are reminded that they must pay their standard fee by 31 July 2004. If they pay after this date, a $30 penalty per dog will apply.

Application forms for Responsible Dog Owner status are available from Civic Offices and Council service centres or on the website www.ccc.govt.nz/animals/forms

  • Owners who have queries about registration should call 941 6643.
