High water users targeted High users of water in the north and north-eastern suburbs of Christchurch are being targeted by the City Council as part of its “Waterwise” campaign to encourage people to use less water and protect the water supply. During February, the top 20 per cent of domestic water users are being sent letters advising them that their consumption is high compared with the city’s average, along with tips on how they can save water. They can contact the Council and if necessary arrange a site visit to the property to help identify if there is a leak or if water is being wasted. Already some significant leaks have been
picked up, and some old, faulty meters replaced. The campaign to
target high water users started in February 2003 with the eastern High users in other areas will be contacted over the next two years. Did you know…..
