Special weekly activities at cafe

Diverse Youth Cafe and Christchurch City Council are hosting a special series of activities based at the café, 5 Buckleys Road (opposite Eastgate Mall), on Wednesday nights. The sessions will run from 7–9pm for five weeks during term time.

The pilot programme, which begins on 18 August, is meant for young people aged 11 years and over who live in Linwood, Bromley, Phillipstown and Woolston. The line up of things to do includes 10- pin bowling, a movie night, indoor rock climbing, sing star and riding the waves at QEII.

Numbers are limited and the programme costs $10 for the term or $2 a session. This includes the activity costs and transport. Each participant will also go into a draw to win a spot prize.

  • If you are interested in finding out more and would like an enrolment form for Diverse Wednesdays, call Tania Smith, the Linwood Youth Worker, on 381 8619 or Community Recreation Adviser Diana Saxton on 941 6628.
