Hagley/Ferrymead Board honours volunteers

The Hagley/Ferrymead Community Board honoured members of its community at its recent annual Community Service Award ceremony. Fourteen groups and individuals received framed certificates from board members honouring their voluntary work.

Board chairman Bob Todd says voluntary, or third-sector workers, make a huge contribution to the city, making it a much better place to live. “Without them we would be much poorer,” he says. The volunteers who were honoured this year are: Eugene Kennedy, Malcolm Moore, Anton and Mary Witteman, Margaret Wyatt, Paul Findlay, Julie Norris, Inner City Operation Neighbourhood (ICON), Tania Soppet, Volunteers of the Woolston- Sumner Handiscope Centre, Graham Mander, Rosemary and Peter Sladen, Volunteers of the Redcliffs Public Library, Steve Wale and Doris Harding.
