Environmental educators on tour

Christchurch organisations are cooperating well in providing environmental education to schools. As a result of this cooperation a Road Show is being offered to Christchurch and Canterbury schools to introduce teachers to the many and varied environmental education resources and programmes provided locally.

The show's presenters are from the five organisations within Canterbury that have formed strong links in environmental education ¨C the Christchurch City Council, the Christchurch College of Education, the Department of Conservation, Environment Canterbury (ECan, the regional council) and WWF-NZ (World Wide Fund for Nature).

The Road Show is an example of how organisations can form regional objectives and commitments as well as benefit from joint funding opportunities and shared resources.

  • The Road Show is suitable for school staff meetings but is particularly relevant to middle and upper syndicate teachers. Please note requests for the Road Show visits are limited. For more information, ph the Council's Education and Promotion Coordinator Kerry Everingham on 941 8779
