Books and Beyond Fest 03

Christchurch City Libraries is proud to be part of the Press Books and Beyond Festival 2003. In addition to sponsoring the popular “An hour with” series held at the Arts Centre during the festival, Christchurch City Libraries will present an exhibition of the Margaret Mahy collection of New Zealand children’s literature from the 1900s to the present day, at Central City Library. There will also be two performances by youth drama group ‘WAM’ at Central City Library on Thursday 29 May.

Visitors to community libraries will be able to enjoy displays of resources written by the authors appearing in the “An hour with” series.

Sue Sutherland, the Christchurch City Libraries Manager, says, “Although we offer much more than books through our libraries, having a vast range of electronic resources as well, we are still very much part of the literary scene. We hope literary fans will make the most of this opportunity to meet with these accomplished writers and, through visiting our libraries, enjoy their work.”
