Festival to end with a bang
Rick Armstrong Motors Classical
Sparks promises spectacular entertainment
in Hagley Park on Saturday, 1 March. The
Christchurch Symphony is joined by special
guests to perform a programme of popular
classics as part of this year’s show which
celebrates the 20th year of SummerTimes. The event has grown enormously in size
since it started in 1983, when 6000 people
came along. This year, more then 120,000
are expected to watch the show from an
audience area of 8ha. Hundreds of fireworks
will light up the sky, with names like
Poisonous Spiders, Happy Dragons Eggs and
Flashing Thunder. Audience members are
invited to bring a picnic, arrive early for a
good spot and take advantage of the onsite
parking for $3. |
