Board’s ’03 Heritage Awards
The Hagley/Ferrymead Community Board
Heritage Awards for 2003 are to be launched
in May. The awards have been established to
recognise the efforts of the community in
initiatives taken to preserve the built or
constructed character and heritage of the
Hagley/Ferrymead area. One award will be made from each of the
following categories: retention, conservation
and restoration, education and awareness,
children, Good Caretaker Award, the Pre-1850
Award and the Christchurch Star Award. Entry is open to any heritage or character
buildings, places or objects within the
Hagley/Ferrymead Community Board area and
include: residential dwellings, commercial/retail,
industrial, institutional and streetscape and
community heritage areas. The official launch of the awards will be on
Tuesday 27 May with entries closing on Friday,
29 August. The presentation of awards will be held
during Heritage Week at Ferrymead Heritage
Park on Friday 24 October. More information can be obtained about the
