Constable Phil Newton is the new Community Constable for the Avonhead and Burnside areas. He is joined by Constable Vinny Munro who will service Merivale, Fendalton and Papanui areas. They bring a fresh, young outlook to Community Policing. The constables have an office at the Council's Fendalton Service Centre in Jeffreys Road.

Both Constables are based at the Papanui Police Station and work out of the Service Centre. One of their objectives is to increase the number of Neighbourhood Support Groups in the areas.

They look forward to being contacted by the community to assist in any way.
