The gardening efforts of more than 160 residents from the Fendalton/Waimairi Board area were acknowledged at the annual Community Pride Garden Awards.

The awards, a joint-venture between the Fendalton/Waimari Community Board and the Christchurch Beautifying Society, acknowledge the work of residential gardeners who, by their efforts, have contributed to Christchurch’s Garden City image. They also encourage all local residents to take pride in their streets and garden frontages.

The Christchurch Beautifying Society selected the gardens as part of its own street and garden awards in January, with presentation of certificates to recipients by Community Board members at an afternoon tea in March.
