Community web
A new “Community Help” website has been
set up to give people information about events
in their area and how the City Council and its
staff are working to support community work. The site — at
www.ccc.govt.nz/community/advocacy/ —
provides information about events and funding,
holiday programmes and other activities for
children. It can also be used to hire a hall for an event,
or to find out about residents’ groups or how
to set up a Neighbourhood Support Group. The site has information about what each
City Council Community Board is doing and
details about community representatives, and
about the Community Advocacy Teams and
how their staff members can help you. The Community Help site is easy to use. If
you don’t know which ward area you live in,
the website will easily guide you and answer
basic questions. It is also interactive. You can
use the feedback form to have your say and
there are email addresses for key people to
contact for further help. If you don’t have a home computer, try one
at one of the City Council’s Libraries. The
service is free and library staff will be pleased
to show you how to get started. |
