Street Swap submissions
The City Council got about 700 submissions from the
public about its proposal to swap the functions of
Lichfield and Tuam streets. People were asked to indicate
on the submission form if they agree or disagree with the
proposal. Early results indicate that of those who sent in
the forms about 18 per cent agree and 79% disagree. Feedback from the submissions is being analysed by a
consultant and a final report is due in September which
will go to a Council committee and then to the full
Council later this year. Last week about 40 individuals
and people representing groups came into the Council
to back up their submissions with speeches or
presentations. |
