Have Your Say Online

The City Council has set up a new website that gives information about the projects it’s consulting on and allows people to have their say online.

The site – www.ccc.govt.nz/HaveYourSay – went live earlier this week. Christchurch City Council Consultation Project Leader Philippa Joughin says the idea is to make it as easy as possible for the public to get involved and access the information they want, quickly.

“It’s a one-stop shop for consultation,” she says. “People now have one central point where they can go to find the most up-to-date information possible about what the Council is consulting on and have their say at the same time.”

The website is another eCouncil project that aims to make it easy to access information and “do business” with the Council using the web.

“Save time and lowering costs by making information as easy to access as possible is the vision of the eCouncil project,” says the City Council’s eCouncil Team Leader Simone Pearson.

The online rates information website – www.ratesinfo.ccc.govt.nz – is another project under the eCouncil banner. Set up in November 2001, it allows Christchurch homeowners to check valuation and rates information for their properties online.
