Inner City Living zones review
The Council has begun a review of the Proposed City
Plan provisions for the inner city living zones. It will focus on
the design issues associated with residential redevelopment. Controls in the Proposed Plan are based on "traditional"
bulk and location-type standards and there has been some
concern expressed that the quality of residential
redevelopment achieved under this regime is not always of
an adequate standard. The Council has begun research and consultation with
residents groups with the aim of putting together an issues
and options paper for improved plan provisions for these
zones. It is likely that wider public consultation with take
place early next year. |
