Warmer Homes scheme to end next month

Act now if you are planning on removing, replacing or sealing up an open fireplace or coal burner. You could be eligible for a grant to help with insulation costs, a grant for disabling an open fire or coal burner and a discount on the installation costs of a new approved heating appliance.

Not only will you be helping yourself and your family by creating a warmer, dryer home environment, but you will also helping to cut down the level of air pollution – which is good for the whole city.

You must apply before 31 May, be a homeowner and have a current community services card. Contact the Programme Administrator, Mike Gaudin, on 941 7450.

For tips on making your home a warmer place to be this winter visit the energy efficiency show-home at 10 Leander Place Papanui. The house is open from 11am to 6pm every day except Wednesdays, including weekends and public holidays.
