City Housing tenants from various Council housing complexes enjoyed a pre-Christmas picnic at Spencer Park.

Before the Christmas rush period was upon them, about one hundred City Housing tenants took the opportunity in late November, to gather at Spencer Park for a BYO picnic and games day.

The outing was organised by the three Activities Co-ordinators in the City Council’s Housing team. Tenants were taken in two charter buses and three minibuses to the park, where a variety of games was available including petanque, quoits, frisbee and badminton. They also made the most of Spencer Park’s walks, bird and wildlife sanctuary, and flying fox!

Sue Walders, Activities Co-ordinator, said that the tenants really enjoyed themselves.

“Tenants often meet others from different complexes at the activities we organise and they enjoy the opportunities to catch up on these occasions. They also really like being out in the fresh air, not to mention learning new games – a 79-yearold woman played badminton for the first time ever and she did very well!”, said Sue.
