Latimer Square lighting

New lighting on Latimer Square West should be in place mid to late August, once resource consent has been granted. The eight new lights will help provide a safe route along that side of the square and enhance the boundary trees.

This is the first stage in the redevelopment of Latimer Square, and will establish the theme for future lighting in the area. Local residents, business people and the police have rated lighting as a top priority in any upgrade of the square.

The wider public will be asked soon to submit ideas for the future of Latimer Square, a key innercity green space that at present is under-utilised and perceived by many as unwelcoming.
