Cables in north-west next year TelstraSaturn says it will lay its cable network in the northwest of Christchurch about the second half of 2002. It has been constructing its fibre-optic cable network in the city since July 2000. It is investing more than $200 million on building its telecommunications network in Christchurch which will offer a broad range of services for both residential and business customers (this includes telephone, dial up and speed Internet, and cable television services). The Christchurch City Council has been pro-active in working closely with TelstraSaturn from the beginning and will continue the task of helping to facilitate the smooth progression of the construction until completion. |
