Winner of International award: Nations in Bloom Best Garden City in the world!

Did you know....

... the Visitor Centre on Worcester Boulevard is not just for tourists but holds information on activities, transport and events used by many Christchurch people, too?

From information on transport or accommodation for weekend excursions to Akaroa, Kaikoura or Hanmer, to a comprehensive booking service covering activities as varied as horse treks and hot air balloons, the Visitor Centre has plenty to offer to anyone interested in exploring the region.

For those wishing to go further afield, the Centre also has information on activities, events, transport and accommodation in other regions plus a full booking service.

Run by the Canterbury Tourism Council, with financial support from the Christchurch City Council, the Visitor Centre deals with over 400,000 visitors each year, including many local Christchurch people. The Canterbury Tourism Council also has a marketing role to stimulate tourist and convention interest in Canterbury, which last year received an estimated 661,000 international visitors, the greatest proportion of which was from Australia, followed closely by Japan.

The Visitor Centre is the distinctive brick building opposite Noah's Hotel on Worcester Boulevard,
