City Scene - Christchurch City Council Newsletter - March 1996
Hundreds of thousands of rubbish bags will be delivered to households and businesses throughout Christchurch in April. The only area that won't be getting them will be the central business district.
If you haven't received your bags by Anzac Day, please contact your local Council service centre.
Rubbish is collected from about 110,000 households once a week, throughout the year. Newspaper, glass and cardboard are collected but the glass should be in open topped containers beside the refuse bag (this glass is not recycled) newspapers should be tied in bundles or placed in supermarket bags with the top tied (newspapers are recycled) and cardboard should be flattened and tied in bundles (cardboard may be recycled).
