Introduction

Christchurch City Council is running an after school programme in parks in the eastern suburbs for 10 weeks until June 27.

The programme aims to provide free, fun, non-competitive recreation for children aged 5 to 12, after school (3.30 - 5pm ) in local parks.

Operating one afternoon a week at each venue, activities focus on arts and crafts, circus skills, sports, outdoor adventure and top team games.

MacFarlane, Linwood and Parklands Parks are being used in fine weather and in wet weather, the programme will move to Shirley Community Centre, Linwood Avenue School Hall and Parklands Community Centre.

Activities suggested by local school children have been included in the programme.
