Dwelling Maps

Some of these files may be in Adobe PDF or Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format. You will require the free Adobe Reader and the free Excel viewer to view them.

Definitions

Occupied dwellings within each meshblock = the number of dwellings within each meshblock. Note: Some meshblocks will have a large number of occupied dwellings simply because the meshblocks are large. The following maps showing the change in occupied dwellings and occupied dwelling density give a better indication of where dwellings are concentrated

Change in occupied dwellings = the number of occupied dwellings in a meshblock at 2001 minus the number of occupied dwellings in the same meshblock at 1996.

Density of occupied dwellings = the number of occupied dwellings per hectare, which accounts for the differing sizes of meshblocks. This is calculated by dividing the number of occupied dwellings in the meshblock by the area of the meshblock.
