Avon River/Otakaro (Central City) Masterplan Adopted
On 1 March 2007 the Council adopted the Avon River/Otakaro (Central City) Masterplan. Detailed planning for it's staged implementation is now under way. Find out more.
Introduction
The Avon River (Central City) Masterplan has been prepared to guide the use and management of the river corridor for the next 25 years, in order to protect, integrate and celebrate the many layers of natural and cultural heritage.
This document sets out the community's aspirations for the corridor and a vision which reflects community values in guarding, managing and enjoying the Avon River/Ōtakaro and its setting through the central city.
Submissions are now closed. The Christchurch City Council sought submissions during the period 13 March 2006 to 10 April 2006.
